Hawaiian Sweet Roll Burgers with Cholula-Infused Fry Sauce
The best thing about counting macros is no one food group is off limits. It's all about balancing the amount of each macro-nutrient (carbs, fats and proteins) across your meals. What this means, is that when I'm making turkey burgers, there is no reason I can't use amazingly soft and delicious Hawaiian sweet rolls as the bun!
These burgers are a definite crowd pleaser. A little steak seasoning and Worcestershire give the patty a punch. Add a crunchy pickle and smear on some home-made Cholula-infused fry sauce and you have yourself a satisfying burger all within your macros. MMMMmmm.
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground turkey burger (At least 73% lean)
1 Tbs Worcestershire
1 Tbs Dijon mustard
1 Tbs steak seasoning (Half for mixing in the burgers, the other half for on top of the patties)
4 King's Hawaiian sweet roll buns
2 Tbs light mayo
1 Tbs ketchup (Reduced sugar if you have it)
1/2 Tbs Cholula hot sauce
Mixed greens
Dill pickle chips
Directions
1. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey burger, Worcestershire, Dijon mustard and half the steak seasoning. Form into 4 equal patties and top with the rest of the steak seasoning.
2. In a large pan on medium heat cook patties for about 6 minutes on each side. Or, until no longer pink in the middle.
3. While burgers are cooking, in a small bowl, mix light mayo, ketchup and Cholula together to create a zingy fry sauce.
4. Now it's time to assemble! Place one burger patty, 3 pickle chips and pile of mixed greens on top of the bottom bun. On the top bun, smear on 1/4 of the fry sauce mixture.
5. Now take a big bite and enjoy the juicy, tasty goodness.
